Two specialists.
Instead of sending you to multiple appointments, a Flow clinic visit puts a doctor who specializes in bleeding — a hematologist — in the room with a doctor who specializes in periods, from adolescent medicine or gynecology. Clinics are held two to three times a month.
Hematology
Runs the bleeding workup — factor levels, platelet function, von Willebrand testing — and treats what it finds.
Gynecology & adolescent medicine
Manages the menstrual side — cycle control, pain, iron levels, and what school and daily life actually look like.
Nursing & social work
Coordinates care between visits, chases results, and helps families with school, insurance and period-supply resources.

The center
Since 1982, asking why the bleeding is happening.
The Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis was founded by a pioneer of comprehensive care for patients with bleeding disorders. Its director, Dr. Meera Chitlur, started the Flow clinic after seeing how many patients arrived with heavy periods that no one had investigated.
Our mission is early recognition and accurate diagnosis — and making sure every patient and family understands their own diagnosis well enough to advocate for themselves.
