A Flow clinic visit brings hematology, gynecology or adolescent medicine, nursing and social work together in a single appointment. These are the people who make that up.
Dr. Meera Chitlur, M.D.
Director, Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis
Dr. Chitlur is the director of the Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis. She completed her medical training in India and went on to do her residency in Pediatrics at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Dr. Chitlur is recognized nationally and internationally for her expertise in bleeding disorders. She is dedicated to the treatment of patients with heavy menstrual bleeding and created the Flow comprehensive clinic. She also developed a community outreach program that promotes early awareness of abnormal period symptoms, assists with diagnosing the cause of abnormal periods and aids in prevention of severe complications that impact quality of life. Dr. Chitlur is actively involved in the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD).

Dr. Alcesa Backos
Adolescent Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Michigan
Dr. Backos specializes in adolescent medicine at Children’s Hospital of Michigan’s Specialty Clinic. She participates in the Flow comprehensive clinic once a month with a hematology provider. Her role in the Flow clinic is to assist in controlling menstrual complications.
Dr. Brian Berman
Director of Gynecology, Detroit Medical Center
Dr. Berman is the Director of Gynecology at Detroit Medical Center. He is one of the gynecologists who participates in the Flow comprehensive clinic, once a month, with a hematology provider. Dr. Berman specializes in treating menstrual complications.
Dr. [FIRST NAME] Jameson
Gynecology; Director, Ryan Residency Program, Wayne State University
Dr. Jameson is the director of the Ryan Residency Program at Wayne State University and is part of the gynecology department at Detroit Medical Center. She is one of the gynecologists who participates in the Flow comprehensive clinic with a hematology provider. She specializes in menstrual complications and provides this specialty to patients who attend the Flow clinic.
Cindy Sabo
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Hematology
Cindy Sabo is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Hematology Department of Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern Michigan University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Wayne State University. Cindy is a hematology provider for patients who attend the Flow comprehensive clinic. She assists with Dr. Chitlur’s community outreach program, providing education to high school students in Detroit Public Schools. She is actively involved in the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD).
Charity Stadler
Nurse Coordinator, Jeanne M. Lusher Center
Charity Stadler is the Nurse Coordinator for the Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis. She coordinates, and is one of the nurses who participates in, the Flow comprehensive clinic for adolescents with heavy menstrual bleeding. Charity stands beside her mentor, Dr. Meera Chitlur, in assisting with the development of a community outreach program that provides education to high school students in Detroit Public Schools. Her primary focus is education of patients and health care workers on bleeding disorders, with a special focus on heavy menstrual bleeding. Charity is actively involved in the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders (FWGBD).
Kristen DePew
Hematology Registered Nurse
Kristen DePew is a member of the Learning Action Network’s nursing subcommittee, part of the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders. Kristen is a hematology registered nurse for the Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis. She assists with the coordination of care for adolescents with heavy menstrual bleeding and is part of the Flow comprehensive clinic team.
Michelle Hyde
Hematology Registered Nurse
Michelle Hyde is a hematology registered nurse for the Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis. She assists with the coordination of care for adolescents with heavy menstrual bleeding and is part of the Flow comprehensive clinic team.
Emigh Litch
Hematology Registered Nurse
Emigh Litch has been a hematology registered nurse for the Jeanne M. Lusher Center for Hemostasis and Thrombosis for nearly four decades. She assists with the coordination of care for adolescents with heavy menstrual bleeding and is part of the Flow comprehensive clinic team.
Rachel Cain-Kellman
Clinic Social Worker
Rachel Cain-Kellman is our clinic social worker. She graduated from Wayne State University in May of 2021 with her Master’s in Social Work and began working in our clinic shortly after. Rachel provides a variety of support in clinic including resources, emotional support, and helping families problem-solve challenging situations.
BUILD NOTE — Nine of the ten staff photos exist in the old site’s media library and need re-uploading; only Dr. Jameson has none, and her first name is missing too. Two orphan files (Rebecca.jpg, Julie.jpg) have no matching bio — confirm whether those staff members have left.
